KT News 04-09-2024/: The Ethiopian Diaspora Service has officially announced that the "Journey to Homeland Winter Festival" for second-generation Ethiopians will take place from September 7th to 10th, 2024, at the Adwa Victory Memorial.
This initiative follows Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's previous call to the Ethiopian diaspora, particularly the second generation, to reconnect with their heritage.
According to the Service’s Communication Director, Mr. Wondeson Girma, the first and second calls saw over 100,000 Ethiopians return to their homeland, allowing them to immerse themselves in the nation's culture and history.
Mr. Wondeson emphasized that the third call is a continuation of these successful efforts, and as part of this phase, the "Journey to Homeland Winter Festival" will serve as a focal point for the diaspora community.
The festival will feature a variety of events celebrating Ethiopian culture, including traditional performances, fashion shows, and sports competitions.
